Weekends with the Wesleys v. 56

Another weekend with Rosie being a no-show. 🙁 This little girl is going to make me wait it out instead of surprising us with an early arrival!

We didn’t do much this weekend. Mostly we were lazy around the house in anticipation of something happening, but also because we just wanted to enjoy some time together before the baby is here. Plus, being 39 weeks is exhausting!

We went out on Friday for dinner at Ponce City Market. It was the first time I’ve ever been there and it was pretty cool! Super industrial and Atlanta. We ate at a restaurant called Minero, and it had burritos bigger then Tyler’s head. It was INSANE. We also tried a gelato place, but it was a bit of a let down, which was a bummer.

After dinner, we walked around and did some window shopping to see a few stores before they closed for the night. We came across a candle store that was TO DIE FOR. It was so adorable and had a “library” of scents. They also had a studio for a candle making class that they offer. I’ll definitely be going back for that!

We also came across a paper good store. I CANNOT resist a paper goods store. Ugh. This one was so cute. They had an entire pencil station!! Tyler had to turn me away from basically everything, except one thing. 😉 They had a children’s section and in it we found the sweetest little Andy Warhol book. When I was in high school, we had to do a project in Andy Warhol’s pop art style. I was completely obsessed with it because it had everything I loved! A simple subject, bright colors and pop culture.

There were quite a bit of small pieces of his that I wanted to incorporate into Rosie’s nursery, but we went a more girly route instead. Needless to say, we got the book and I can’t wait to read it to her!

Saturday was definitely a rest day. Friday night I had some baby action – Not quite contractions but definitely the beginning of something. So I ended up sleeping in a bit. Hubs and I spent most of the day bingeing One Tree Hill on Netflix with a little bit of picking up around the house. Eventually I got up and met one of my friends at Starbucks for a coffee date while Tyler met a friend for dinner.

At our coffee date, my sweet friend asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding! I could not be more excited to stand by someone on their wedding day. This girl has such a good heart and I’m beyond thrilled that she found a man who is perfect for her and treats her so well. I’ve always thought she deserved the world and I’m honored to return the favor and stand by her side when she says “I Do!”

Sunday was even more of a bum day, which was just fine we us! We had a gourmet breakfast in bed (Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch) and basically snuggled all day. We did get up to do a bit of cleaning and put the final touches on Rosie’s nursery. Later in the evening Tyler did some yard work while I tried to entertain myself reading magazines and bouncing on an exercise ball.

Despite being a bit disappointed that Rosie didn’t want to come hang with us, it was a nice and relaxing weekend for the two of us before she gets here. It’s kind of weird wondering if this will be our last weekend just the two of us! We’re secretly hoping that she decides to come during the eclipse (and that it will bring her super powers, because that would be pretty nifty). Cross your fingers for us! 😋
